Nineteenth Street hosts numerous health-related programs through its partnerships with Choose Healthy Life and the Leadership Council for Healthy Communities. You’re invited to join the health team for the following activities at the church, 4606 16th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20011.

Tai Chi Classes
Mondays at 4 p.m.
Tai Chi classes are held on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., except during holidays, in the fellowship hall. The ancient meditative movement of tai chi emphasizes body balance, clarity, focus and strength. The low-impact classes are led by instructor Jerry Simpson. Participants are encouraged to wear loose garments and Asian slippers, athletic shoes or athletic socks. Sign up and liability waiver forms will be in the fellowship hall. There’s a fee of $10 for each session. Attendees are asked to submit their payments through the Zelle digital payment network, using Simpson’s number—202-286-9503. Strutters and Strollers
Wednesdays at 2 p.m.
Walkers with adaptive aids and winning attitudes meet in the fellowship hall on Wednesdays at 2 p.m., starting on January 10, 2024. Walk This Way
Wednesdays at 3 p.m.
Walkers meet in the fellowship hall parking lot on Wednesdays for an outdoor walk from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Walk This Way program is led by Janyce F. Jefferson, the church’s Choose Healthy Life health navigator. Everyone is welcome. There is no cost.
